This Monday, 3 March, the University of Valladolid will present the two research units recognised in the Regional Government of Castilla y León’s Research Excellence Ladder call: the Institute of Applied Ophthalmobiology (IOBA) and the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary and Disruptive Sciences (LaDIS). The aim of this programme is to strengthen high-impact research structures in Castilla y León in order to enhance their competitiveness and ability to attract talent.
Over the next four years, IOBA and LaDIS will each receive €850,000 to support their strategic plans and improvement programmes. These grants are part of Castilla y León’s Regional Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3).
The press conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the press room of the Palacio de Santa Cruz. It will feature the Rector of the University of Valladolid, Antonio Largo; the Director for Universities and Research, Blanca Ares; and the heads of the two recognised structures: Professor of Ophthalmology Margarita Calonge (IOBA) and Professor of Theoretical Physics Luis Miguel Nieto (LaDIS). A scientific session will follow.
